Dave O’Connell is a writer. Of sports. For The Messenger. Yep. If you have any story ideas for the paper, please e-mail him at doconnell@the-messenger.com or call 824-3226 or “hit him up” (as the kids say) on Facebook. You can also catch him on “The Sports Nutz” radio show every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on 106.9, unless he has a game to cover or just plain forgets to show up. Usually, Dave plays the role of Dave O’Connell on the show, although sometimes he’ll mix things up and assume the role of host Daron Jordan in a desperate attempt to get them to do a segment on something he knows a little about, like Australian Rules Football. Either way, he’s a “Sports Nut,” specifically a malabar chestnut that goes good with a side of lentils.

Just found this blog. It looks pretty good. I love high school sports, especially football. I am a Webster County guy and will now visit this blog often. I loved your interview with Matt Bell. Keep up the blogging.
