Got a call from Madisonville-North Hopkins football coach Will Weaver with some interesting news. Cornerback Jeremy Clark, who committed to Michigan over the summer as a greyshirt, will now join the team next fall as part of the 2012-13 recruiting class.
Clark had been slated to become a Wolverine starting with the 2013-14 class.
“They sent their coach down to watch practice last week and they were so impressed with him and our team,” Weaver said. “They wanted to get him on campus right away.”
Clark has five TDs on various defensive and special teams returns this season. He and the rest of the Maroon secondary shut down Lone Oak QB Cole Ousley last week, keeping him from adding to his 33 touchdown passes on the season.
“I thought he was a very good football player,” Lone Oak head coach Orville Haskins said. “Their skill kids are really good.”
Clark will be back in action Friday at Crittenden County.
