About Nick

Nick is a sports reporter for The Messenger and has been with the paper since June 2008. Nick is Cincinnati born and raised. He graduated from Cincinnati St. Xavier High School (2004) and Ohio University (2008). His favorite sport to watch is baseball. Nick also enjoys watching NFL, college football and college basketball. Nick’s favorite sports to play are baseball and snow skiing.

Before joining The Messenger, Nick covered high school and college sports for The Athens Messenger in Athens, Ohio and Parkersburg News-Sentinel in Parkersburg, W. Va.. In 2007, Nick served as a media intern for the Helena Brewers, Rookie League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers in Helena, Mont.

While co-sportswriter Forrest Rutherford harps on Nick for having many favorite sports teams, Nick has no shame regarding his passion for the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Bengals, North Carolina Tarheels, Cincinnati Bearcats, Xavier Musketeers and all things Ohio. During his time in western Kentucky, Nick has already developed a strong affiliation with the Tennessee Titans and taken in three games.

In his free time, Nick enjoys camping and hiking.
